Design Philosophy
October 12, 2018
Growing up in a home where my father owns a construction business and my mother is a talented decorator, its safe to say I have always been around projects. My dad introduced me to commercial projects at ten years old. Before he took me to my first commercial work site, when I heard my parents talking a job I though my dad was going to be on TV. Though I misunderstood what my dads job was, I was still very impressed when I saw the job site.
Jumping forward 9 year... working for my dad during the summers is such a great opportunity to see how plans come to life. While sweeping through hotels and buildings, seeing the production process and the environment of a construction site, it gave me a clear view of what the field i am entering into really looks like on a day to day basis.
My mother was a mom who went above and beyond to make our house a home. I have acquired her style and values when designing homes. I strive to make a house a sanctuary for the people who are going in inhabit it. I value spaces designed for relaxation, family, work, and functionality. Using my design philosophy I hold the most focus on comforting bed rooms that stimulate relaxation, family rooms that entice communication, and offices that encourage focus and structure. I decorated my apartment with these methods in mind. My bed room is my safe place. Its my small personal space where I can decompress from the daily stress that the world throws at me. The living room is laid out to encourage conversation between me and my roommates and friends. https://www.paulbarrs.com/business/funny-memes-website-design
